Hamelin House
This is a beautiful brick building from 1938 with five apartments that are full of character. The one bedroom apartments have hardwood floors, built-in china cabinets in the dining rooms, large living rooms with marble fireplaces, and large closets. Apartments C&D also have three-season porches. The two bedroom apartments have fireplaces, wood floors and walk-in closets. There are also dining rooms with a built in hutch and a four-season porch off the living room. Heat is included, there is on-site laundry, and parking is generally available.

|Recommended: YesSpacious, Good Value — The inside of the apartment is sunny and cheerful.
Due to age of building, the windows are poorly insulated.
Bathrooms appear to have not been renovated since the 1970's. Plumbing is poor. Sink requires insane amount of Drain-O despite only ever being subjected to hand soap and toothpaste.
A lot of space for the money, considering location.
Grounds are kept up well. However, for some reason not all of the trash is taken out on trash day. This results in the bins constantly being full. This is particularly bothersome around move-in time and the holidays.
Street parking available.
PET FRIENDLY Biggest perk right there.
|Recommended: YesNot Bad — Building is nice, good amount of space and storage but also has outdated outlets, fixtures, plumbing, etc.. The floor is squeaky and the insulation heat don't work all that well but get the job done if you turn it up a bit you don't have to pay for heat anyways . Laundry is free, pets are allowed, management is reasonable and friendly, overall a decent place to live in a quiet neighborhood.
