|Recommended: YesI love the property — I love my studio, the balcony is amazing Great layout and awesome community.
|Recommended: NoThis building is disgusting and maintenance is rude — The entrance and elevators constantly dirty. There's some blood or something on the wall between the elevators that's been there for about a year now. The elevators are constantly dirty especially the floor but God. One maintenance worker in particular likes to argue with me and has tried to get out of doing work multiple times. When our heater was broken our first winter here he insisted that it was working just find until his supervisor decided in 2 seconds that it wasn't working and agreed with us. Our bedroom is hot at night all seasons of the year I can't explain it. We have cooling everything on our bed, the mattress itself is cooling, the pillows, the sheets, the blanket, mattress protector- literally everything and it's crazy hot in there. You can leave the bed and it's just crazy hot in the room. Our drain in our shower is slow and always has been. The lowflow toilet is a joke and gross.
|Recommended: YesHenry-Gilamn Apts are a nice property — Its cozy, private, convenient laundry access, but what really kept me here and other leases with the SB downtown office was the nice professionalism from the Steve Brown downtown office people. Alana, Nicole and Larissa were the best Give those ladies a raise Mr. Steve Brown
|Recommended: YesGreat place close to State Street — Great amenities and very helpful staff
|Recommended: YesOlder, but it holds up — The management is excellent. Any problem I had was addressed in an incredibly timely manner and help was easy to ask for. They far exceeded my expectations and I cannot recommend management enough.
|Recommended: YesGreat management and maintenance — I've loved living here and would recommend it to anyone. Management is always extremely responsive and regularly will go out of their way to be helpful. Maintenance orders are always filled very quickly, and often done in a way that exceeds my expectations. My only complaint would be that it can be a little noisy at night due to people outside the building or in other houses, but that should be expected with the large sliding glass doors. I never heard noise coming from neighbors within the building, though. Overall, great experience. This has been my favorite place to live in Madison by far.
|Recommended: YesI love it — Its very cozy, with a nice community of people. Having a gym downstairs is a plus, and being able to have very fast repairs as well as nice people around me is great. I love how you one can pound a nail into a wall and not hear it from somewhere else. Very nice place to live
|Recommended: YesWell taken care of but much too expensive — The common areas are clean and the staff is really attentive. I just think it's way too expensive for how much space each tenant gets. Also it gets more expensive every year, even though nothing of value is being added to the property for tenants.
|Recommended: YesGreat location, kinda pricey — Rooms are not super well-insulated, but the location is great...internet is spotty, building managers are timely in their responses though. Kinda pricey, but it is furnished.
|Recommended: YesEasy to live in — Easy to access, very close to most Madison amenities, great gym
|Recommended: YesTop-Notch Amenities — I love living here The building is beautiful and well-kept. The amenities here are great. I often use the gym and common area to study
|Recommended: YesFriendly staff and great management — The staff of Henry Gilman are friendly and helpful, and the management is great. I also like my apartment which is on the higher level, and faces toward the State street, and thus has a nice view. However, because of this, the noise in my apartment is sometimes intolerable. The student community around this area often hold parties over the weekends, so it is hard to concentrate on my work or study in my apartment. Also, the only point I would like to have renew is a laundry room as it is not very clean, and the laundry machines often get out of order. I also wish to have more laundry machine in the laundry room since all of them are used especially on the weekends.
|Recommended: YesThe Best Around — Living in the Henry Gilman apartment complex can satisfy the needs of anyone student or not. It is removed from the hustle of the downtown area but steps away at the same time. Very clean community areas with a nice gym, computer lab, and common area. Friendly and diligent staff at Steve Brown Apartments make the transition or move seamless and easy. Only downsides being noise control sometimes, and cleanliness of the hallways via hired workers.
|Recommended: YesGreat place. — It's a good place to live besides the street noises.
|Recommended: NoSoundproof is not good, too many spiders — Ceilings too old.
