The apartments vary in looks and furniture, with furniture that looks like something that's in a dorm. They offer great services, like the workout room and common areas, the staff is all very friendly and it's very close to campus. They have an academic lease, which is great for people who go home during the summer. If you're looking for something a little more homey though, I'd probably look elsewhere.

The rooms are pretty reasonable for two people, and the academic lease is nice. But the community is pretty bad, and it's not really giving out that college vibe. It's just kind of boring here and the amenities aren't anything special.

I think that the roommate matching should be upgraded and aligned more towards the people's career or academic stance in order to avoid discrepancies.

submitted by David H. - |Recommended: YesNice, friendly, and not too expensive for what you get — From living here for roughly two years now, I have almost no bad things to say about it the only exception being a couple bad experiences with a bad roommate, but even in that situation, the staff were able to accommodate a room and roommate change fairly quickly. The building itself is clean with many amenities pool table, ping pong, commons area w TV Xbox, and quiet group study rooms , has internet access from in-wall ethernet that is included in the small utilities fee so long as you have your own router , and I love that even if the rooms have a sort of dorm theme feel to them, each apartment has its own kitchen, bathroom, and living space area with A C and furniture. My only gripe with the rooms is that the bedrooms can get very warm I assume due to the building's heating and often leave the bedroom door open to let in air from the A C. Also, don't expect to be able to sleep in very late on Saturdays during football season due to the noise from the street and stadium other than that, there haven't been too many issues with noise . All staff that I have interacted with over the past couple years have always been friendly, professional, and able to help me with whatever it is I needed. All I've ever needed to do was call or email someone from the front desk and I received help answer to a question almost immediately.

Therefore, only my bedroom was cleaned by the apartment complex, and the common areas were left as is. My new roommates were not tidy people, and if something was broken they never bothered to have it fixed. I spent the first two weeks after move-in cleaning the apartment every day after I finished work. At least 15 hours of labor went into scrubbing the floors, walls, cupboards, fridge, sinks, bathroom, and windows clean. As for my room, which was supposedly cleaned by the apartment complex before I moved in, it turns out the only thing they did was vacuum. The previous tenant illegally smoked in the room and the smell never went away. When I asked the property manager to help, she ran a machine that was supposed to remove odors from the air, but this too didn't fix the pervasive problem. Management simply shrugged their shoulders that there was nothing more that they could do. So I personally washed the walls in my room, spread deodorizer on the carpet, and washed the blinds. An entire layer of black smoke residue came off of the blinds and the walls, which finally helped remove the smoke smell. In short, this apartment was given to me in extremely poor, filthy conditions. I spent far too many hours readying the apartment for myself because the property complex did not take care in readying the apartment for me. No amount of my rent payments went down and I wasn't accommodated in any other fashion to make up for the poor living conditions. I would not recommend this complex to a friend.
response from property -Jenna, I'm sorry you had such a negative experience at The Regent and your roommates weren't a better match for you. I'll follow up with the property manager to find out why no one offered to paint or shampoo your carpet after the ozone machine proved ineffective. My apologies for the lack of regard for your concerns.

The location is prime, the gym has a lot of nice equipment, and most importantly, the staff is ALWAYS helpful and courteous. The only reason I am leaving is due to the cost. I know what I can afford and The Regent just doesn't fit my budget during the school year. However, the rent over the summer for a private bedroom is amazing, you won't find a better deal anywhere... Overall, this place is fantastic - especially if you don't have a car as you won't have to pay the 100 plus per month parking fee and you are still really close to campus. Oh, and lastly, they have free laundry now as well as online payment options that make paying rent a breeze. Everything about The Regent is simple and convenient.
response from property -Thank you, Malcolm!
